Product Description
The iron sands are mainly use for weight balance of Runway construction, port crane counterweight building, seismic stability, concrete hardening, sports equipment counterweight, deoxidizer, water purifier etc.
The general process for preparing low iron sand is as follows:
1. Raw material preparation: Select high-purity silica or quartz sand as the raw material, crush, wash, and sieve it to remove impurities and coarse particles.
2. Roasting: Place the processed raw materials into an electric furnace or high-temperature furnace for high-temperature roasting treatment to improve the crystalline state and physical and chemical properties of the sand. The calcination temperature is generally between 1200 ºC and 1400 ºC, and the time is about 2-3 hours.
3. Grinding: Grind the roasted sand to achieve uniform particle size for subsequent processing.
4. Iron removal: Use a magnetic separator or high gradient magnetic separator to remove iron ions from the sand, in order to achieve low iron requirements.
5. Grinding: Use a fine grinder or ultrafine grinder to grind the sand after iron removal, with a particle size generally below 5 microns, in order to be applied in high-tech fields.
6. Packaging: The finely ground low iron sand is packaged and encapsulated according to customer requirements to ensure product quality and stability.
It should be noted that environmental protection and safety issues need to be taken into account during the preparation of low iron sand, especially in the dust treatment of roasting and crushing processes. At the same time, strict quality control and testing of raw materials and finished products are also necessary to ensure that the products meet customer needs and standards.
Application of Manganese Sand
Natural manganese sand is a strong oxidant, which can oxidize divalent iron in water. It is often used in drinking water removal iron and manganese filtration devices, and groundwater removal iron and manganese removal water purification equipment.
The service life of manganese sand is generally 3 to 5 years for groundwater with high iron concentration, and for groundwater with low iron concentration, the service life is longer, and some have more than ten years. In some natural manganese sand filters, the manganese sand on the upper part of the filter layer will gradually form spherical "rust sand", and the surface of the "rust sand" has a layer of "active filter membrane", which still has the ability to contact catalytic iron removal, so the formation "Rust sand" is not a sign of failure of natural manganese sand. When the length of "rust sand" roughly makes the particle size of the filter material too coarse and affects the effect of iron removal, it is necessary to replace part of the filter material. Therefore, we must pay attention to whether there is "rust sand" in our construction process. If so, we must distinguish the size of "rust sand". If it is a small size, it can continue to be used, which can reduce our industrial costs. , If it is a large specification, it must be replaced to avoid affecting the filtered water quality.
